About Metal Fire Extinguishing Agent

Flamax Brand Tec Base Extinguishing Agent For Metal Fires

DESCRIPTION

Regular extinguishing agent such as water, foam or dry chemical powders are not suitable for extinguishing metal fires especially sodium, potassium, lithium, magnesium and alloys because water react dangerously with metal at normal condition.

Foamtech manufactured Flamax Brand TEC base Extinguishing Agent for metal fire such as sodium, potassium, lithium, magnesium and alloys is made in such a fashion to treat any type of metal fires. It is designed with three (ternary) chlorides salts and free flowing agent & water repellant agents so as to get best performing powder.

In sodium fires, for example combustion of sodium in air results in the formation of sodium peroxide and sodium oxide. The rate of reaction is controlled by rate vaporization of sodium and the rate diffusion of oxygen in combustion zone. In light of these factors, Flamax Brand TEC base Extinguishing Agent has capability to cease these factors by fusing at above 600oC to absorb heat from the metal and make solid crust on the metal surface resulting cut-off oxygen and heat radiation. Flamax Brand TEC base Extinguishing Agent reacts readily with free radicals of metals and terminates the chain reaction resulting quick and effective knock down.

FAQs of Metal Fire Extinguishing Agent:

Q: How should I properly use this metal fire extinguishing agent?

A: To extinguish class D metal fires, directly apply or dispense the powder liberally onto the burning material until flames are fully smothered. Always follow standard safety protocols and use appropriate personal protection during the application.

Q: What benefits does this agent offer compared to standard fire extinguishers?

A: This specially formulated agent is designed for metal fires, providing high heat absorption and fast smothering. It prevents re-ignition by forming an efficient barrier over the burning metal, unlike standard extinguishers which are often ineffective for class D incidents.

Q: When should this product be used?

A: Use this extinguishing agent specifically when managing fires involving combustible metals such as magnesium, sodium, potassium, titanium, or aluminum powders. It is ideal for industrial and manufacturing settings where such metal hazards exist.

Q: Where should I store the fire extinguishing agent for maximum stability?

A: Store the product in a cool, dry, airtight container, away from moisture, heat, and incompatible substances to preserve its integrity and performance. HDPE drums or containers with sealed polybags are recommended for ideal storage.

Q: What makes this agent environmentally safe and non-toxic?

A: The proprietary blend contains no harmful chemicals or toxic additives, and it does not emit toxic fumes when deployed. It is odorless and classified as non-poisonous, ensuring safety for both users and the environment during and after use.

Q: How long does the agent remain effective in storage?

A: If stored correctlyin a dry, sealed environmentthe product retains its full effectiveness for 2436 months from the manufacturing date.

Q: What does the proprietary blend typically contain?

A: The formulation usually includes sodium chloride, inert flow agents, and moisture control additives to provide quick smothering action, stable moisture content, and free-flowing characteristics that support easy application during emergencies.
